Am I loyal, brave, and true?

Glad to be back for the song of the week,

‘Loyal Brave True (From Mulan)’ by Christina Aguilera

I have been waiting for this movie and it came out with such a wonderful soundtrack. After the film was out and after watching the movie, I’ve been listening to this song from time to time. Of all the their songs, my favorite was this one. Not only it inspires me, it made me reflect into honoring those who have stayed on these virtues. “Loyal, brave, and true.”

It’s amazing to come back to such an incredible movie that’s full of power and meaning, and that meaning holds the test of time: staying true to yourself, being who you are, and teaching how to be fearless. My new song, ‘Loyal Brave True,’ represents the fine balance between vulnerability and strength.

This song is incredibly deep if you think about what the line “who am I without my armour” is implying. Most people in modern society feel a need to search outside themselves for support or validation because it’s the way we’ve always been programmed, but who are we without having anyone around to save us or use as a crutch? Many people rely on a relationship or their partner to give them this sense of security which makes them weak, and it’s not an attractive quality to high valued men or women that respect themselves. We all have to learn to stand in our own power.

And also, this song reminds me of all the nurses, doctors, and everyone else risking their life to save other people’s lives from COVID-19. Thank you to all of you. God bless you and everyone in the world. Please stay safe during these tough times. Pray for everyone you know.
